Robot sensory activity for learners with PMLD

Robot Power is a fun and engaging sensory activity that explores a robot theme for PMLD learners through sight, sound, touch, smell, taste and movement.

Throughout the session, learners help wake the robot up by pressing a switch and listening to the sounds of his systems coming to life. They explore glowing wires, moving robot arms, shiny cogs and moving parts, a warm battery, a cooling fan and a final burst of electrical energy before helping the robot get ready for work.

Using a range of simple sensory props, this robot theme for PMLD encourages learners to listen to robot sounds, watch glowing and reflective lights, experience warm and cool sensations, explore contrasting smells and take part in a simple robot-themed movement rhyme.

A Robot Power PowerPoint or video accompanies this session to support the sensory experiences. All download links are included within the written resource.
