Together is a simple Communication Through Touch activity for children and young people with PMLD and complex learning needs, exploring friendship through music and positive touch experiences.
Perfect for the beginning of a new term, friendship themes or when a new class is coming together, the session uses specially chosen music alongside hand massage, slow squeezes, playful touch and soft sensory experiences.
Only a few simple resources are needed: massage cream, a soft paintbrush and a small piece of soft faux fur fabric. Together is easy to prepare and deliver, with full delivery guidance and an accompanying PowerPoint included.
This PMLD friendship activity can be shared individually or as part of a group at school and can also be enjoyed at home, creating opportunities to spend time together through music, touch and shared sensory experiences.
