Aurora Borealis is a music-led body awareness session inspired by the beauty of the Northern Lights and the stillness of the Arctic.
Designed for children and young people with PMLD and other complex learning needs, this session guides learners through the Blue Hour, twinkling stars, icy wind, falling snow, and a grounding frozen landscape, before coming to rest beneath the magical glow of the Aurora Borealis.
The session combines music, touch, movement, deep pressure, and visual atmosphere to support relaxation, regulation, and shared connection. It works beautifully in a sensory or darkened environment and can be shared with learners using Acheeva beds, lying comfortably on the floor, or seated in wheelchairs.
The accompanying PowerPoint/video provides the music and visual support for the session. It can be shared flexibly to suit your space and learners, with the option to enhance the experience using a Northern Lights projector.
