“Strawberry Moon Sensations” is a walking-the-senses activity designed to gently awaken all five senses using sensory materials inspired by the summer moon. Long ago, Native American tribes gave names to each full moon to help them follow the changing seasons. The full moon in June is called the Strawberry Moon, as it rises when wild strawberries are ripe and ready to pick.
