‘Strawberry Moon’ is a communication through touch activity inspired by the magical full moon that appears in June. It is called the Strawberry Moon because it rises when wild strawberries are ripe and ready to pick. Long ago, people gave each full moon a special name to help mark the changing seasons, and June’s moon was a signal that it was time to gather sweet, red berries from the fields.

In this session, learners will enjoy massage actions and sensory experiences linked to Summer and the Strawberry Moon, including the warmth of the golden sun, the gentle tickle of buzzing bees, picking ripe strawberries, the soft glow of the Strawberry Moon, the gentle Summer breeze, and the clear starlit skies.

A ‘Strawberry Moon’ PowerPoint/video with images and music complements this session and can be downloaded from the Sensory Soup OneDrive or Dropbox. Alternatively, you can view the PowerPoint in video format on the Sensory Soup YouTube channel.
