Fluorescent playdough is a visually brilliant material for sensory play in a sensory room or dark room under UV light, and it is super simple to make.

RECIPE

2 cups of flour

1 cup of salt

2 tablespoons of cream of tartar

2 tablespoons of cooking oil

Up to 1.5 cups of boiling water

Fluorescent Paint

METHOD

Add 2 cups of flour to a bowl.

Add 1 cup of salt, 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar and 2 tablespoons of cooking oil to the flour.

Squeeze a good amount of fluorescent paint into the mixture.

Mix all the ingredients.

Slowly add small amounts of boiling water to the dry ingredients stirring them together until it forms a dough.

Take the dough out and knead it with your hands. You will see the colour of your dough begin to come through as you knead it.

If your dough is too sticky, add more flour; if it is too dry, add more water.

Leave your dough to cool down.

Once cool, store it in an airtight container until ready to use.

You will need a UV light and a dark room to see the full effects of your fluorescent playdough.
