'The Ultimate Spinning Light' by Richard Hirstwood
I stumbled across this amazing spinning light idea by Richard Hirstwood some time ago and have been itching to make one ever since !
Having just discovered the fabulous book ‘Walters Wonderful Web’ I thought this spinning light would be a great resource to use for the part of the story when Walter spins his web.
It costs around £30 to make and you can order everything you need from Amazon. I started off trying to weave the lights in and out of the basket but soon realised that this was going to take forever and was very fiddly. After watching Richards video again I saw that he wrapped the lights around the outside of the basket and then secured them at the top. This made a lot more sense and once I had secured the lights I was really excited to try the salad spinner out in the dark……I wasn’t disappointed ! Such a brilliant idea and so effective, well worth the money spent and our students love it.
Thank you for sharing this idea Richard Hirstwood !
