Eid Mubarak is a Waking the Senses session celebrating Eid al-Fitr, a Muslim celebration that marks the end of the lunar cycle and the return of the crescent moon.

Designed for children and young people with PMLD and complex learning needs, this session supports learners to explore key parts of Eid in an accessible and respectful way.

Through visuals, sound, touch, smell, and movement, learners are supported to explore Eid celebrations, including:

  • the crescent moon and lanterns
  • new and special clothes
  • giving to charity
  • sharing food and being together at the end of the day

The session ends with a short closing rhyme, supporting body awareness, calm, and togetherness

An Eid Mubarak PowerPoint with images accompanies this session and can be downloaded from the Sensory Soup OneDrive. Alternatively, the session can be viewed in video format on the Sensory Soup YouTube channel.
